Primarily aimed at high-level choreographers, directors, dancers and actors who wish to extend their knowledge and skills through practical research of:

  • how to tell a story through dance and movement, performance and acting; 

  • how to be choreographer, director of physical theatre, movement and dance; 

  • how to create an ensemble and professional performances in limited rehearsal time;


Practical sessions are designed to enhance understanding of performance making, ensemble building, composition and rehearsal processes, and skills in pedagogy. The training is designed as the multidisciplinary intensive lab with participation and practice together with performing arts practitioners from different techniques and countries.


This workshop is a simple way that can help you formulate your personal unique approach to work with actors and dancers, through the intensive practical training based on the Ostrenko Method of performer's physical training and rehearsals.


Students may expect to encounter the techniques of such outstanding figures as V. Meyerhold, M. Chekhov, K. Stanislavski which got incorporated into the method by Ostrenko.


The course is taught by experienced professional practitioners, experts in performing arts pedagogy, actors’ training, theatre directing and movement research in intercultural groups and projects. 



The working language is English.


Ostrenko's approach is internationally renowned, from Russia to the USA, from Iceland to South Africa, from Canada to Australia, from Singapore to Italy and beyond.


Ostrenko's approach is a systematic approach to performance, which generates innovative productions utilizing concepts, ideas, and existing play-texts. It introduces some of the effective techniques and approaches towards contemporary performance practice in the context of the short rehearsal time and multicultural aspect of the creative team.   


Ostrenko's approach offers the tools and support necessary for students to reach their full potential.


The programs aim to explore the performer's physicality, step beyond the limits of the text-based acting through the introduction of V. Meyerhold’s “Biomechanics”, K. Stanislavski's “Physical Action”, M. Chekhov’s “Psychological Gesture” and elements from other techniques of nowadays. 


Sergei Ostrenko has over 30 years of professional experience as a Director, Choreographer and Performance Teacher.


Sergei has directed over 40 theatre productions, producing international projects for both the professional stage and for education in numerous countries, including Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Russia, Slovenia, Sweden, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.


Liudmila is a professional choreographer and performing artist from Moscow, Russia.

She got her first education at Moscow City Teacher Training University and has extensive training in Classical Ballet, Jazz Dance and Kung Fu.


She is researching and collecting different contemporary physical theatre techniques from Russia, France, and  Germany.

Participation fee: 700 EUR (early bird reduced fee until November 15).

After November 15, 2019:  800 EUR

The fee covers only participation in the program.

November 22:

13:00-16:30 - Group arrival and check-in.

16:30-17:00 - A short tour around the Castle.
17:00-18:00 - First group meeting and introduction.
18:00-19:00 - Dinner.


November 23, 24, 25, 26, 27:

7:00-8:00 - Warm-Up.
8:00-9:00 - Breakfast.
10:00-13:00 - Practical training with Ostrenko Brothers.
13:00-14:00 - Lunch.
14:00-15:00 - Break.
15:00-18:00 - Practical training with Ostrenko Brothers.
18:00-19:00 - Dinner.
19:30-21:00 - Creative diary: evening lectures, discussions and creation.

November 28:

7:00-8:00 - Warm-Up.
8:00-9:00 - Breakfast.
10:00-13:00 - Practical training with Ostrenko Brothers.
13:00-14:00 - Lunch. 
14:00-16:30 - Practical training with Ostrenko Brothers.
16:30-18:00 - Break.
18:00 - Final Party


November 29: 

8:00-9:00 - Breakfast
10:00 - Check-out and departure.

Evidence that you are serious about your education and professional development.

The certificate is provided after student's participation in the training and submitting the report/essay of their experience at the program (1500 words).
