THEATRE BIOMECHANICS IN PHYSICAL THEATRE
The program is designed for actors of physical theatre, dancers, contemporary circus performers, choreographers and directors - performing arts practitioners with professional stage experience working in various genres, techniques and styles interested to find new international network opportunities and collaborators.
Participants will explore Meyerhold's Biomechanics Etudes, principles of Theatre Biomechanics, Psychological Gesture, the Physical Action, Method of Active Analysis and training by method of improvisation, scene composition from exercises to performance and more.
The workshop is also open to practicing theatre directors and choreographers working in various genres, techniques and styles interested to acquire reliable director's toolkit to create contemporary professional productions in the settings of limited rehearsal time.
The training is designed as the multidisciplinary intensive lab with participation and practice together with performers from different techniques and countries. Multidisciplinarity and multiculturality is one of the most important principles of our programs.
The working language is English.
OSTRENKO BROTHERS METHOD
The Ostrenko Brothers' Method is internationally renowned, from Russia to the USA, from Iceland to South Africa, from Canada to Australia, from Singapore to Italy and beyond.
The Ostrenko Brothers' Method is a systematic approach to performance, which generates innovative productions utilising concepts, ideas, and existing play-texts. It introduces some of the effective techniques and approaches towards contemporary performance practice in the context of the short rehearsal time and multicultural aspect of the creative team.
Ostrenko Brothers method offers the tools and support necessary for students to reach their full potential.
The programs aim to explore performer's physicality, step beyond the limits of text-based acting through the introduction of V. Meyerhold’s “Biomechanics”, K. Stanislavski's “Physical Action”, M. Chekhov’s “Psychological Gesture” and elements from modern techniques.
SERGEI OSTRENKO
Sergei Ostrenko has over 30 years of professional experience as a Director, Choreographer and Performance Teacher.
Sergei has directed over 40 theatre productions, producing international projects for both the professional stage and for education in numerous countries, including Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Russia, Slovenia, Sweden, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.

Evidence that you are serious about your education and professional development.
The certificate is provided after student's participation in the training and submitting the report/essay of their experience at the program (1500 words).

Day 1:
18:00-21:00 - First group meeting and Practical Training.
Day 2 - 5:
10:00-13:00 - Practical Training
13:00-14:30 - Lunch Break
14:30-18:00 - Practical Training
