DRAMATURGY OF PHYSICAL ACTION

The training is designed as an intensive multidisciplinary lab with active participation and practice of performers from different techniques, levels of experiences and countries. Multidisciplinarity and multiculturality are one of the most important principles of the program.

Through the workshop, participants will be introduced to physical theatre following some methods of the Russian school and others. They will explore how to bring an emotionality in action, an action in performance and attention on the stage as a physical action.

The programme will include movement based on improvisation, concentration, contact and interaction, exploration of space and visual expressiveness. Through practical exercises with text and image, participants will learn basics about theatre biomechanics (V. Meyerhold), psychological gesture (M. Chekhov), internal and external physical action (Ostrenko Method), choreography and blocking on the stage.

The workshop will allow participants to deepen their skills as performers or apply acquired knowledge and tools as makers of physical theatre.

The working language is English.

OSTRENKO BROTHERS METHOD

The Ostrenko Brothers' Method is internationally renowned, from Russia to the USA, from Iceland to South Africa, from Canada to Australia, from Singapore to Italy and beyond.

The Ostrenko Brothers' Method is a systematic approach to performance, which generates innovative productions utilising concepts, ideas, and existing play-texts. It introduces some of the effective techniques and approaches towards contemporary performance practice in the context of the short rehearsal time and multicultural aspect of the creative team.

Ostrenko Brothers method offers the tools and support necessary for students to reach their full potential.
