The program is designed primarily for performers of physical theatre, dancers, actors, movers, contemporary circus performers, choreographers and directors who wish to bring the life presence into their performances. You may be an actor or dancer who wants to diversify your skills and knowledge, you may work with actors (as dance or movement teacher, or a theatre director with a movement history), or be a practitioner from an allied field of sport/holistic practice, wanting to enhance your understanding of practical/theoretical interfaces regarding movement in contemporary performance.

You will have the opportunity for the development of your deep understanding of the actors movement and application of this knowledge to work with actors and to performance making. You will be able to gain a valuable knowledge on how to tell story through the actors' bodies and movement.   

The workshop is designed as the introductory session to performers physical training, movement for actors sessions and composition of the movement on stage, relying on some elements of Russian theatre tradition of theatre biomechanics and the newest experiments in performing arts, such as animal flow and many others. The workshop is highly practical and intensive residential lab, where students can expect being involved in the training full day.

The accommodation for participants and training studio are located on the territory of Laubegg Castle in Austria. Everything is organized on the same territory: creative space and full board accommodation, so that participants can concentrate on creation and communication without any distractions of the routine necessities. The workshop is a great opportunity to approach a unique methodological and practical material that will enrich your professional skills and will offer you the possibility to share an intense creative experience at a global level!

The working language is Russian and English. 

GENNADIY OSTRENKO

Gennadiy Ostrenko is a professional expert in theatre biomechanics technique, movement directing, and stage combat.

 

Despite having a Fine Arts Academy education, he is professionally involved in theatre work for the most part of life. His stagecraft skills have enabled Gennadiy to diversify his artistic activities and he now devotes himself a lot to physical theatre and movement expressiveness. and frequently collaborates with his brother, Sergei, as a Movement Director in performance productions.

SERGEI OSTRENKO

Sergei Ostrenko has over 30 years of professional experience as a Director, Choreographer and Performance Teacher.

 

Sergei has directed over 40 theatre productions, producing international projects for both the professional stage and for education in numerous countries, including Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Russia, Slovenia, Sweden, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.

CERTIFICATE

Students can receive the

Certificate of Participation in this intensive training. 

 

Evidence that you are serious about your education and professional development.

The certificate is provided after student's participation in the training and submitting the report/essay of their experience at the program (1500 words).

 

 

REGISTRATION

To apply for participation, please fill in the online Application Form. 

Participation fee: 795 EUR (early bird reduced fee until December 22.

After December 22, 2019:  850 EUR

*The fee covers participation in the program.

January 24:

From 13:00 - Group arrival and check-in.
16:50-17:00 - Programme Coordinator meets the group. Short tour around the Castle.
17:00-18:00 - First group meeting and introduction.
18:00-19:00 - Dinner.

January 25, 26, 27, 28, 29:

7:30-8:30 - Warm-Up.
8:30-9:00 - Breakfast.
9:30-12:00 - Practical training with Ostrenko Brothers.
12:00-13:00 - Lunch.
13:00-14:00 - Break.
14:00-18:00 - Practical training with Ostrenko Brothers.
18:00-19:00 - Dinner.
19:30-21:00 - Creative diary: evening lectures, discussions and creation.

 

January 30:

7:30-8:30 - Warm-Up.
8:30-9:00 - Breakfast.
9:30-12:00 - Practical training with Ostrenko Brothers.
12:00-13:00 - Lunch. 
14:00-16:30 - Practical training with Ostrenko Brothers.
16:30-18:00 - Break.
18:00 - Final Party

 

January 31: 

7:30-9:00 - Breakfast
9:00 - Check-out and departure.
